Prisoner dies in Sylhet jail

An under trial prisoner of Sylhet central jail died of illness at Osmani Medical College Hospital on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Julhas Mia, 40, son of Abdul Gofur Mia of Ishwarganj upazila in Mymensingh.

Jail sources said Julhas, arrested recently in an arms case, fell ill on Saturday. Later, he was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday where he died at noon.

The body was handed over to his family members after post-mortem.
